Our Story
A gentle journey of discovery and an appreciation for the island lifestyle
Two unique personalities who grew up on the beautiful islands of the Maldives, Fathimath Salah [Koki] and Hassan Rameez [Tom] combined their talents to start a gentle journey of discovery, exploring their love for design, travel and a deep-rooted appreciation for the island lifestyle. Thus, Island Bazaar came into being in 2015.
With respect for cultures, reviving tradition and heritage, our series of homeware, apparel and jewellery collections embodies tranquil and warm styles.
Our approach to design is very personal. It is the contrast of the monsoons the earthy colours, the dark and the light tones, the pitter patter of the rain on wood, balmy breezes and the oceans, few of our inspirations that we draw upon in our designs.
The countless journeys with our families to the islands and watching the local crafters building boats, women weaving mats and the humble approach to handicrafts by using various locally grown materials, has unbeknown created a profound effect in the way we bring life to our designs and products.
We love exploring impressions and objects from the past and translate them in our designs to reminisce the present in a simplistic way.
And we collaborate with local artists and encourage them to showcase their talents, and offer an inclusive platform, to celebrate individuality.

Our Contribution
Island Loop takes tiny steps and work together with selected causes and organizations (non-profit) within our Island communities and offer our support.
Every quarter we choose a cause and contribute minimum 2% of Island Bazaar's quarterly profit to the cause.
We believe that it's in our local community, where we can be most impactful. More details on our Island Loop Page, on causes we have worked with and continue to work with.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
