Island Loop - an Initiative by Island Bazaar
As we celebrated our boutiques third year in 2019, we were delighted to announce the launch of Island Loop.
Island Loop will take tiny steps and work together with selected causes and organizations (non-profit) within our Island communities and offer our support.
Every quarter we will choose a cause and contribute minimum 2% of Island Bazaar's quarterly profit to the cause. That we have selected, along with a post on our Journal [our blog] during that quarter.
1st & 2nd QUARTER 2022
Our chosen cause for the first and second quarter of 2022 is Hope for Women.
"Hope for Women (HFW) is a non-governmental organization in the Maldives, registered on 19th January 2010 working towards ending all forms of violence against women; promoting gender equality and women’s participation in public life. At the moment HFW’s activities are mostly project-based with funding from few well-wishing individuals and organizations. However, we are continuously exploring other avenues for resource mobilization, in order to sustain the functioning of the organization and expand the scope of its work; particularly impacting public policy and improving outreach."
2nd & 3rd QUARTER 2021
Our chosen cause for the second and third quarter of 2021 is Maldives Resilient Reefs.
Maldives Resilient Reefs
"Maldives Resilient Reefs (MRR) is a marine conservation working to restore coral reefs in the Maldives as climate resilient ecosystems for the benefit of people, nature and the businesses that depend on them. MRR works to support the coverage of well-managed and effectively enforced marine reserves in the Maldives to 30% and to implement locally tailored models of sustainable, small-scale fisheries that benefit Maldivian people by working closely with governments, tourism businesses, people and fishermen. MRR is affiliated with British conservation charity, Blue Marine Foundation."
1st and 4th QUARTER 2021
Our chosen cause for the first and fourth quarter of 2021 is Cancer Society of Maldives.
Cancer Society of Maldives
"Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM) is a national community based (non-profit/non-governmental) organization formed for the purpose of reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in the Maldives. We aim to contribute towards the well being of our community by creating awareness about cancer, providing support and circulating information and resources so as to enhance the experience of people fighting against cancer. It is one of our top priorities to conduct cancer research and to create a cancer patient registered data base in the Maldives."
4th QUARTER 2020
Our chosen cause for the final quarter of 2020 is Society for Health Education.
Society for Health Education
"Society for Health Education (SHE) is privileged to be one of the nation’s leading NGO’s providing integrated services to the community to foster family well-being in general and in particular empower families and women to make informed choices when seeking health services. We are an organization who is proactively working towards identifying and addressing crucial health and social concerns in the Maldives.
We are firmly focused on being a professionally managed and client-centered organization that follows international best practices. We understand that our success depends on the unreserved commitment of our Members, Management, Staff and Volunteers, and we strive to raise the bar higher at every opportunity so that we could progressively add greater value to our clients and stakeholders, thereby uplifting the community’s general wellbeing and their living standards. We are more than ever committed to this goal."
2nd and 3rd QUARTER 2020
Our chosen cause for second and third quarter of 2020 is Maldivian Red Crescent.
Maldivian Red Crescent
The Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) an independent, voluntary, humanitarian organization, established on the basis of the Maldivian Red Crescent Law [Law 2009/7]. The MRC’s primary objective is to provide humanitarian aid, and to prevent and alleviate human suffering. It is the 187th member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The Movement’s mission is to alleviate human suffering, protect life and health, and uphold human dignity especially during armed conflicts and other emergencies. The MRC in its nascent stage is closely guided by the Movement partners including the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The MRC works across the country to build resilience across Maldivian communities, and does so through working in strategic areas on strengthening emergency response, strengthening first aid and psychosocial support, facilitating resilience-based planning, promoting health and well-being in a changing environment, fostering humanitarian values and volunteerism, and organizational development and sustainability. In addition to working with the relevant public authorities, the National Society also collaborates with the private sector to enhance impact and outreach.
1st QUARTER 2020

We have had the privilege of working with and seeing first hand how hard the teachers and management of Care Society work and wish them all the best.
