Island Loop
Island Loop - an Initiative by Island Bazaar
As we celebrated our boutiques third year in 2019, we were delighted to announce the launch of Island Loop.
Island Loop will take tiny steps and work together with selected causes and organizations (non-profit) within our Island communities and offer our support.
Every quarter we will choose a cause and contribute minimum 2% of Island Bazaar's quarterly profit to the cause. That we have selected, along with a post on our Journal [our blog] during that quarter.
3rd & 4th QUARTER 2024
Our chosen cause for third & fourth quarter of 2024 is Maldives Autism Association.
Maldives Autism Association (MAA) was founded on 21st January 2010 by Madam Ilham Hussain. She became aware of the importance of educating and helping children with Autism when she worked as a teacher at an autism center in New York.
She came back to Maldives and talked to countless mothers who confided in her that their children needed a haven outside of mainstream schools to thrive and excel to their full capabilities. Determined to create an educational and safe space for these children, Ilham, with support from her husband, Dr. Mohamed Waheead, opened the Maldives Autism Association, which now caters to over 100 children.
