Shimanie x Island Bazaar

Shimanie is a Maldivian artist and art teacher primarily self-taught, yet continuously honing her craft through training with many distinguished artists over the years. 

We first had the privilege of working with her in 2022 to develop our Island Stories collection, released in 2023. The collaboration was warmly received, and the process felt so effortless that we knew we wanted to work with her again for this milestone year. 

Our new collaboration began early this year (2025). After Shimanie hand-painted all the elements we had envisioned, we worked closely together to bring them to life as complete designs. Working with these beautiful illustrations and with Shimanie has truly been a delight for us.
