Kasabu By Hidha Large Wrist-band

KBHO03

Kasabu Gethun is an art that has been practiced in the Maldives for more than 400 years.

These ribbons are hand-braided using bobbins (Foali) and a cushion. The cushion is placed on a wooden stand known as 'Gathaa Fai'. The thread used are metallic yarn, cotton, and silk. The ribbons are hand stitched to make the unique and intricate neckline of the traditional Maldivian dress 'Dhivehi Libaas'

When making this wrist band, the same ancient techniques were used with more vivid colors. The chosen colors are inspired by the traditional dress 'Libaas and Feyli', colors of the ocean and rays of the sunrise.
